What do Big Nazo Creatures + MomPros have in common?
Sep 19, 2023If you’re not dancing around with giant creatures in a parking lot then who even are you?!
Discovering Big Nazo was a revelation when we first moved to Rhode Island 8-ish years ago and I was so glad to run into them this past weekend. I’ve loved this quirky troop for all these years and welcome their zany madness and ability to bring us all somewhere new. I needed that break from being a MomPro in the traditional way I am at home (doing much of the household stuff, chores, and covering all the kid sick days, etc.) but I also realized that zany madness is also a way I am a MomPro too. Let me explain.
As I’ve discussed on the blog before, the art of being a MomPro is not just about the doing of all the domestic tasks parents need help with now and will increasingly in the future. It is also about being a supportive presence and bringing to bear our unique gifts of caring and creativity that can lift up almost any household. For example, one of our MomPros really wants to make batches on chicken noodle soup to deliver to clients all winter long. Another MomPro always brings some unique craft for the kids to work on and yet another pro takes great pride in sharing her warm, motherly presence and listening ear to parents in need. As for me, the next time you need a mom’s dance party (BTW WE ARE ACTUALLY HAVING A MOM’S DANCE PARTY IN RHODE ISLAND -- stay tuned!), some ridiculous story, insane piece of art, or a zany Big Nazo moment, you know where to find me.
MomPros are a different breed in the child / home care space. Yes, our pros are comprised of nannies, babysitters, teachers, nurses, and doulas picking up extra hours to supplement their income. But it takes a certain type of caregiver (who passes our preliminary screening process of course) to truly participate in our culture and embrace the notion that parents come first. By extension, MomPros are offering some of the best, most effective care for homes and kids that I have witnessed in this space (see Testimonials). And, like Big Nazo, pros are sharing their gifts with parents with creativity and joy.
If you’re in Rhode Island and want to jump on our platform before the app come out, please do so right here for a great opportunity to connect with our warmed up list of MomPros!
