What is my WHY for the Same Team Childcare course?!

I’ve been researching nannies and parents for about the past year.  In developing the Same Team Online Course, I came from the parents’ typical online search perspective: why am I struggling to find the right matches?!  I had an idea of common experiences on care dot come and other search sites, but it wasn’t until I dove into the career/professional nanny industry that I learned the real, distinct differences between entry/summer/bridge level nannies and career/ professional nannies.  Also, to the dismay of many career/professional nannies, there are a lot of folks who may say they are nannies but often lack the skills necessary to perform in the Standard Nanny Role (as defined by the International Nanny Association).  

My “why” has been to assist parents to identify candidates who can perform strongly in the Standard Nanny Role.  I struggled in my own search for many, many years by identifying people who “seemed nice and trustworthy” but would then have difficulty following through with the agreed upon items detailed in the work agreement or in being reliable employees for instance. I came to realize many years later, these individuals identified as nannies but needed a lot of development to meet those minimum standards.  On the other hand, I also worked with candidates were newer to the role and picked up very quickly as I provided a more intensive trial period, working closely with these candidates.  

My goal with the Same Team course is to help other parents quickly screen and identify the best possible nanny candidates, even if they have a bit to pick up and learn.  I want parents to be able to go to work with ease and do that bit of self-care with ease.  All of my missteps and mistakes can be lessons learned for new parents coming up.  My “why” exists so parents don’t need to go through so many nanny ups and downs like me… I want to help them get it right the first time!
